Chapter 1: Embracing Our Creative Journeys

How can we infuse our Storyspinning adventures with joy? In both challenging and triumphant times, how do we honor our experiences without diminishing the significance of our efforts? We find ourselves at a pivotal moment in the Visible World, necessitating that we channel all our Inspiration, Imagination, and Passion to construct a larger bridge between the Invisible and Visible Worlds.
We must confront our fears to draw more unseen energy into the tangible realm. Above all, this process should be enjoyable.
Coming to the Campfire
This has historically been a challenge for all versions of me—Past, Present, and Future. I cherish the creative process, yet often struggle to pause at day's end to gather around the campfire for essential rest and recuperation. My nights stretch late into the witching hour, only to rise again at 6 a.m.
The brilliance of the stars, particularly during winter nights, captivates me. Observing the gentle dawn light chase away the darkness is one of life’s great marvels. Thus, it's not that I overlook the passage of time or celebrations; I certainly engage in them. However, a greater sense of shared joy is needed in Mudville (a classic nod to Casey at the Bat, who knew I had that reference in me?).
A Sports Perspective
Ah, sports—the ultimate form of entertainment for participants and spectators alike. Let's examine the definition:
Sport /spôrt/: an activity that involves physical exertion and skill where individuals or teams compete for enjoyment.
Indeed, I’ve previously suggested that Storyspinning resembles a game. However, it could evolve into a sport—the Sport of Storyspinning—where we engage in reading, writing, and creating, competing against ourselves and each other purely for enjoyment.
Here’s another definition:
Game /ɡām/: a type of play or sport, typically competitive, governed by rules determined by skill, strength, or luck.
As I often find, I possess all the elements I require—we all do; we just need to recognize how they connect. This often requires a wizard-like shift in perspective. With our daily experiences, we tend to adopt shorthand, mistakenly assuming we comprehend all the meanings behind a name.
The act of naming is akin to wizardry, focusing energy into specific forms, but it can also restrict our complete understanding of people, places, or things. Therefore, it’s vital to name and rename to preserve the magic and mystery of what is named, something that Future Me and Future You excel at.
