Chapter 1: My Contributions to Medium

As of April 19, 2024, I proudly have 50 posts and 555 followers to show for my efforts. All of these entries are:

1. Authentic

   Each piece reflects my unique voice and perspective.

2. Insightful

   They aim to educate, inspire, and entertain.

3. Completely AI-Free

   None of my stories involved AI; they are crafted solely from my creativity. Is this old-fashioned or simply a refreshing change?

Additionally, the visuals accompanying my narratives are also free from AI influence.

Topics I covered range widely—from travel, self-help, and diet to migraines, mental health, vegetarianism, chocolate, literature, the once-in-a-lifetime solar eclipse, and reflections on Medium itself. I also included five amusing personal anecdotes involving:

• Dealing with negativity and sunshine.
• A seagull snatching my sandwich at a café.
• Encountering a ghost in my bedroom.
• Carrying a bag that continually follows me.
• Experiencing travel déjà vu.

Interestingly, one of my pieces, titled "Solar Eclipse: 5 Things You Should Avoid," earned me a staggering $0.55!

My journey started off slowly. 🐌 I published just one story in November, followed by two in December, and three in January. However, everything changed when I joined the Medium Partner Program in late February. Since then, I’ve ramped up my writing, and as of this April, I'm now posting daily. That slow-moving snail has really picked up speed!

Chapter 2: What I Gained from Medium

Having gained 555 followers, I also reaped numerous benefits. Here's what I learned:

1. Crafting Engaging Stories

   I discovered how to tailor my narratives for an online audience.

2. Enhancing Visual Appeal

   I learned to incorporate images and emojis for a more engaging presentation.

3. Effective Communication

   I found ways to articulate my messages succinctly.

4. Delivering Quality Content

   I focused on providing real value to my readers.

5. Creating Catchy Titles

   I honed the skill of crafting intriguing headlines.

6. Building Connections

   I engaged with fellow writers, enriching my experience further.

While the learning process is ongoing, I feel equipped with essential skills to continue developing my craft. There were moments of confusion from the myriad of writing advice I encountered, as well as times filled with laughter thanks to some clever authors. At times, I felt uplifted, inspired by captivating topics and beautiful imagery.

As for earnings, I'm still shy of hitting the $50 mark, but Medium is sending me a clear message:

"Keep writing more stories!"
