Unpredictable events can occur at any moment, turning our lives upside down and casting a shadow over the future. Life is inherently filled with uncertainties. The past few years have been particularly turbulent, marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, soaring inflation, international conflicts, social injustices, and climate crises.
Even more personal uncertainties can arise, such as dealing with serious health issues. For instance, I am currently navigating my mother's battle with stage 4 colon cancer, a challenge that struck me unexpectedly.
Cancer embodies the essence of uncertainty. If you or someone close to you has faced this disease, you understand the unpredictable nature of it. Despite advancements in medicine, the journey can vary significantly from day to day, leading to unexpected hospital visits and emotional turmoil.
Chapter 2: 10 Strategies to Navigate Uncertain Times
In challenging circumstances, how can we cope effectively? While there isn't a universal solution—since everyone has their own coping mechanisms—I have found the following ten strategies beneficial during the unprecedented uncertainties brought on by COVID-19. I now apply them to my mother's situation and hope they can assist you as well.
1. Cultivate Faith in Something
For me, having faith in God is essential, but everyone has their own beliefs. Whether it's a higher power, nature, or something else, faith provides a sense of purpose and stability. Without it, life can feel hollow.

2. Embrace Change
Change can be challenging, especially when it feels beyond your control. Practicing mental flexibility can help you navigate these shifts. Remind yourself, “It’s going to be alright.” This simple affirmation can be surprisingly powerful.

3. Strengthen Your Inner World
