Despite Apple’s efforts to fulfill customer orders for the MacBook Pro, the company is struggling to meet the soaring demand. Reports indicate that new orders are experiencing delays extending into July, while previously placed orders have also been pushed back. In fact, standard MacBook Pro models are now facing delays, with custom configurations likely to be postponed even further, potentially until August. This means that customers may have to wait for nearly three months to receive their devices, assuming there are no further setbacks.

Earlier this month, 9to5Mac reported receiving numerous messages from frustrated customers who have been notified of order delays. Many of these individuals have faced multiple notifications regarding postponements, compounding their disappointment.

Understanding the Cause of Delays

Initially, it was thought that the delays were related to the integration of MiniLED technology in the new MacBook Pros. However, as other devices not utilizing MiniLEDs are also experiencing delays, it appears the issue stems from broader global supply chain disruptions and manufacturing limitations. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has pointed out that the ongoing lockdowns in China due to the pandemic are exacerbating component shortages, complicating Apple's ability to meet demand.
