After a decade of generating income through online content creation, I ventured into acquiring a local service-oriented business. This is a typical local industry—nothing overly glamorous.

In my first year, I anticipate reaching a gross income of six figures. Although the overhead is greater compared to online ventures, achieving substantial profits requires a significant increase in gross revenue. Fortunately, I’ve streamlined operations by hiring someone to manage daily tasks, allowing me to focus on marketing, which is my forte. I am passionate about content marketing, whether I’m profiting directly from the content I produce or promoting a business I own.

One viable avenue is launching your own email newsletter, a strategy many writers on Medium adopt. They’re wise to do so as it stands out as one of the most lucrative business models available online and beyond.

I won’t delve into the typical "freelancing" or "ghostwriting" paths, which often serve as mere stopgaps. I engaged in freelancing for a few years to cover my expenses while I built more sustainable, passive content enterprises.

Instead, consider broader possibilities: online courses, offline businesses, SaaS products—anything that places your offerings higher on the value spectrum.

That's perfectly reasonable. The advantage lies in the ability to hire someone to manage the business while you focus on marketing. This is precisely my approach today.
